Horizon Yachts begins construction on 32m superyacht

Taiwan-based shipyard Horizon Yachts has confirmed that construction has begun on the first model in its new FD102 series. In-build images of the vessel – sold to a European client – have been revealed on Instagram.

Contracts for the 32-metre (105-foot) superyacht were signed at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show, with delivery currently scheduled for 2020. The project is being designed by long-time Horizon collaborator Cor D. Rover.

Rover has described the new superyacht as “an attractive representation of the evolution of the Fast Displacement Series design”. The yard itself adds that the yacht will boast a “striking exterior profile, impressive interior volume and high-performance hull design.”

Horizon’s chief executive, Jon Lu, added in a release, “The innovation of the FD102 Skyline shows Horizon possesses strong design and construction abilities that allow us to turn an owner’s dream into reality.”

Key details and features aboard the first FD102 hull include spacious exterior areas, a large beach club aft with parallel dining/lounging space, and a relaxation zone on the foredeck with U-shaped sofa, sunpads and Jacuzzi.

Accommodation on board is for up to 10 guests across a master stateroom and a quartet of guest suites on the lower deck.

Technical specifications are still currently under wraps.
