Trend Marine completes 125m superyacht glazing project

Trend Marine has recently completed a 125m superyacht project, supplying and installing the marine glazing aboard ‘Maryah’; currently the world’s 15^th largest superyacht. 

The UK glass producers were commissioned to conduct a turnkey supply service, starting with a 3D digitising service, to complete manufacture and installation of all glazing aboard the former Russian research vessel.

Relaunched in 2014 after a five year rebuild project, undertaken by H2 Yacht Design and the Elefsis Shipyard in Greece, this SOLAS and Lloyd’s Register compliant superyacht now carries over 50 passengers in complete luxury.

The bespoke glazing supplied included a range of complex large format curved panels, to A60 fire retardant double glazed window units. In total, more than 450 glazed panels were supplied for the project.

With the recent announcement, the brand announced that engineers were on hand to calculate and reduce glass thickness in order to remove the industry requirement for storm covers in certain areas. Temperature reduction and UV-protection was also achieved through the use of insulated glazing units. 

At 125 metres, this is the largest yacht project that Trend Marine has undertaken to date.
