Cannes Yachting Festival receives Safe & Clean label

Cannes Yachting Festival has been handed a ‘Safe & Clean’ label by APAVE (French risk management organisation) ahead of the start of the show on 8th September. It is set to be the first boat show on an international scale to go ahead post lockdown.

Showcasing almost 400 boats, the 43rd Yachting Festival was originally given the go-ahead on 27th July by Franck Riester, the French Minister for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, who confirmed the resumption of professional events, exhibitions, trade fairs and conventions in France from 1st September with no size limit and in compliance with protective measures.

Now, thanks to the General Health and Safety Plan drawn up to allow the trade show to open under the best possible health conditions, the show is the first event to obtain the ‘Safe & Clean’ label. The purpose of the new label (created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic) is to reassure visitors and exhibitors regarding the safety conditions, in compliance with current standards.

The ‘Safe & Clean’ label attests that health measures in the light of the risk of COVID-19 have been properly implemented.

“The health security of our exhibitors, visitors and members of staff is at the heart of our concerns more than ever this year. We wish to welcome them and allow them to enjoy peace of mind while attending the trade show,” said Sylvie Ernoult, director of the Yachting Festival.

“It was important for us that the health protocol that we have been working on for several months was certified ‘Safe & Clean’ by APAVE to give a strong signal and reassure our customers. Our profession as event organisers leaves no room for improvisation, everything has truly been done so that visits to the trade show take place under the best possible conditions.”

Visitors to the Cannes Yachting Festival will be able to view a range of boats up to 43 metres presented across Cannes’ two ports. The Vieux Port will host the world of motorboats and the luxury and lifestyle sector. Port Canto will be devoted to sailing.
