CGT celebrates 80 years in business with Caterpillar investing in the future

Italian engineering company Compagnia Generale Trattori S.p.A (CGT) celebrates 80 years of business with international corporation Caterpillar. They have taken this opportunity to look over the history of a winning partnership and to look into the future for new and exciting opportunities.

Born in 1934 CGT started to import Caterpillar’s products to help with the reclamation of paddy fields in the Vercelli area. Following the success of the Caterpillar products, CGT expanded into the marine sector and began providing engines for private and commercial vessels.

Since then CGT has flourished, it has been a ‘caterpillar’ overcoming global economic challenges, changes in technology, and changes within the industry itself. They have continued to develop, strengthened by Italian products and skills tailored for each target market.

CGT CAT ® and their excellence in the industrial engines market has been recognized by Germanischer Lloyd SE with a platinum qualification for the quality of technical assistance.

In an interview with Yachting Pages media group, Enrico Dari, manager of CGT for the marine sector explained that, "Continuous commitment and constant attention to customers allows us to offer them superior service standards, guaranteed twenty-four hours a day, everywhere in the world, whether it's a yacht seeking assistance in the Mediterranean sea or a cruise ship in the Atlantic Ocean.”

The 80th anniversary celebrations, not only involved CGT customers’ and employees’, but also gave the opportunity to take a glance into the future, recognising young talented people through the promotion of the CGT80 ‘Investiamo nel domani’ award which values innovative ideas by assigning eight prizes, of 5000 euro each.
