Marine propeller manufacturer, EWOL has announced its presence at the Cannes Yachting Festival this September, where it will display an impressive selection of important sailing catamarans, equipped with EWOL Hi-Speed propellers.
Exhibiting between the 8th and 13th September, the Sunreef 60L and the Alibi 54 - the world’s first fully electric catamaran - will be proudly displayed to demonstrate the award-winning technology of the EWOL Hi-Speed propeller.
As the only propeller dedicated to powering fast multihulls, when under power, the Hi-Speed props allow Alibi 54 to reach a top speed of over 10 knots, achieving limited absorbed energy when compared to what was initially expected by the vessels’ project directors. Furthermore, when under sail, the EWOL props allow recharging of the yacht’s large batteries in reduced time, thanks to the efficient blade profile.
Speaking to Yachting Pages exclusively, Sergio Moroni, co-founder of EWOL said, “EWOL has now a considerable experience in the supply of propellers for electric sailing boats, and is continuing to invest in what will be the ‘clean propulsion of the future'. EWOL has equipped the first fully-electric sailing monohull, which is presently making the world tour without a single drop of diesel fuel.”
